Was overjoyed to read the news that a second season of the “Sakura Trick” anime has been green-lit and it will be animated by renowned studio Shaft!
Titled “Sakura Trick or Treat”, this second season will only be loosely based on the original manga as studio Shaft has announced that after the success of “Koufuku Graffiti”, they are only doing food anime from now on.
The second season’s plot will hence see Haruka transfer to a baking & pastry school, where she will make lots of delicious treats for Yuu. Riku Rooru, the sequel anime’s director, has confirmed they plan to take fans on an adventure of yuri goodness and culinary ecstasy.

If the date was not enough indication, this is of course an April Fools joke.
Would actually love to see a proper second season of “Sakura Trick”, it was a lovely and sweet yuri slice-of-life comedy, though I did feel somewhat disappointed by the anime’s finale as despite it being such an explicit yuri series, had hoped the relationship between Haruka and Yuu to mature even more.
