As the winter anime season is wrapping up, the spring season is upon us! Might have missed out on a few good series but am glad I limited the amount of shows I watched this winter to only a handful, hence plan to not pick up much new shows this spring either.
While there are plenty of other sequels am looking forward to, am most keen on watching “Hello!! Kiniro Mosaic”, the second season of the adorable slice-of-life anime based on Hara Yui’s yonkoma manga. Loved the first season, recently watched it again in anticipation of the sequel.
Another sequel am quite anxious to see air is “Sidonia no Kishi: Daikyuu Wakusei Seneki”. The first season of this science fiction space adventure excelled with epic space battles, political intrigue, lots of mystery and an interesting world setting.
Of course, will watch the second season of “Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works”, was very impressed with studio Ufotable’s work on the first season which had potent writing, good pacing and stunning animation. Considering the poor first anime incarnation of “Fate/stay night”, am glad this franchise’s original story is getting another chance with this excellent new adaptation.
Must have some light-hearted anime in the weekly to watch list, hence decided to try “Hibike! Euphonium”. Considering Kyoto Animation is at the helm of this anime, am quite curious what it will be like and hope it will have plenty of slice-of-life, good music and cute girls.
Having enjoyed the earlier magical girl Nanoha anime series, will of course watch “Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha ViVid”, the anime adaptation of the manga focusing on Nanoha and Fate’s adoptive daughter Vivio, an innocent school girl who much like her mother, has a fateful encounter of her own that changes her life.
While the Suzumiya Haruhi franchise needs no introduction, its last meaningful anime incarnation was the “Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu” movie in 2010. Highlight of the movie was no doubt shy and bashful Yuki Nagato. What better than a spin-off set in that world, all about this irresistibly cute version of Yuki Nagato?
Hence must definitely try “Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu”.
Although I did enjoy the original manga more than its anime adaptation, will be watching “Nisekoi 2”, which is guaranteed to bring lots of laughs and harem shenanigans. With studio Shaft responsible for this second season too, the visuals are sure to be stunning. Do admire the studio for their excellent work in rendering Chitoge much cuter in the anime compared to how she usually comes across in the manga.
Recompiling the earlier movies and adding new content, will be watching the “Ghost In The Shell Arise: Alternative Architecture” anime. Stated to bridge the gap with the upcoming “Ghost In The Shell Arise: New Movie” feature film, am curious what Production IG will change or add to its ‘Arise’ OAV series which while good, did not live up to its predecessors in my opinion.
Last show I plan to watch is romantic comedy “Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku”, the second season of this light novel adaptation, because traptastic Sai-chan is ♥ its first season was entertaining enough for a harem-like anime and boasted excellent verbal banter between the main characters.
So, what will you watch in spring?
