Originally created by Kiseki Himura and published each Monday on Twitter, “月曜日のたわわ” is a series of illustrations intended to boost people’s morale on those tough Monday mornings by depicting a simple, yet funny or motivating story usually involving a busty high school girl or shapely office lady.
Although it has only spawned a single compilation book yet, which was published at Comiket 89, a twelve episode short anime adaptation created by Pine Jam and NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan is being released online this autumn season. Took notice of “Getsuyoubi no Tawawa” following Twitter traffic about Youtube’s removal of the first episode from NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan’s channel.

While the first episode has since been re-uploaded to Youtube, “Getsuyoubi no Tawawa” is now being released weekly on a dedicated channel at Nico Nico where you can watch this slice-of-anime about busty girls warming your heart or motivating you to hang in there when you feel down on a dreary Monday thanks to their spirit and encouragement.
Even though it is a slice-of-life genre series with enough humour, would not compare this anime short to shows like “Yama no Susume”, “Wakaba*Girl” or “Aiura”, instead “Getsuyoubi no Tawawa” seems more oriented to cater to an audience keen on some mild fanservice considering the main focus of this show is its irresistibly cute, busty girls.
You can watch “Tawawa on Monday” on Nico Nico’s “Getsuyoubi no Tawawa” channel and check out the original illustrations on Kiseki Himura’s Twitter.
