A promotional video for the upcoming “Amanchu!” anime has been published on Shochiku’s Youtube channel and the official “あまんちゅ!” anime website.
Was ecstatic to see actual animation sequences from the show, although it did look like the character design style has altered slightly compared to the first promotional image that was published earlier. The style shown still seems close to Kozue Amano’s original work and its overall aesthetic though, which is satisfying.
The promotional video also showcased excellent use of lighting, hope that studio JC Staff expertly plays with light & shadow in the actual anime, building on the great illustrations drawn by Kozue Amano in the manga.
While the music will be handled by Gontiti, the relaxing tunes heard in the promotional video were undeniably reminiscent of the “Aria” soundtrack by Choro Club and Takeshi Senoo, which reinforces my impression -and desire- that the “Amanchu!” anime will be similar to “Aria” in terms of having an enchanting atmosphere.
Can’t wait to see the anime this summer and am curious to discover what voice talents will lend their voice to Futaba, Hikari and the other characters from Kozue Amano’s wonderful manga. It is undoubtedly going to be a wonderful new journey to embark on.
