Another short anime am thoroughly enjoying this season is “Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desukara”, the anime adaptation of the “魔法少女なんてもういいですから。” manga by Futami Sui.
Offering plenty of comedy as well as being a parody of sorts, “Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desukara” focuses on Yuzuka, who reluctantly becomes a magical girl after encountering a strange creature named Miton. However, both soon discover that being magical girl or a magical girl’s partner does not necessarily turn out how they thought it would.
Unlike “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” that takes a rather grim and dramatic approach on the typical magical girl story, “Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desukara” confidently takes the path of being a cute yet silly comedy that does not shy away from mocking its own genre.
The animation by studio Pine Jam is good, especially the visual atmosphere of subdued colors and the character design style fits such a comedy quite well, which contributes to making this show a solid, good anime that is simply lots of fun to watch.
With episodes of just four minutes each, “Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desukara” is a quick watch that I do recommend to all who enjoy magical girl anime or the anime fans among you who enjoy slice-of-life or parody style comedies.
You can watch “Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desukara” on Crunchyroll.
