Komori-san wa Kotowarenai!

Adapting the four-panel comedy manga “小森さんは断れない!” by Cool-kyou Shinja into anime form, “Komori-san wa Kotowarenai!” has been an excellent slice-of-life comedy which I have thoroughly enjoyed so far.

The show focuses on Shuri Komori, a kind school girl who doesn’t seem to be able to turn down any request and is always the recipient of everyone’s pleas for help, be it at school or elsewhere. Her tall stature and large bosom unwillingly make Shuri even more the center of attention, much to the exasperation of her two friends Megumi and Masako who cannot help but dream to one day have such a figure.

Due to its yonkoma origin and short episode length, each episode feels like a rapid succession of silly situations, jokes, quirky conversations as well as heartwarming moments. Although I had expected this to be a decent slice-of-life anime, was surprised at how good it really is as it manages to hit the mark on all elements, from the animation to the characters. It’s a truly lovely show.

Considering “Komori-san wa Kotowarenai!” is such an excellent slice-of-life anime, would regret that the running time of each episode is so short (just two minutes), but this anime works surprisingly well within those time constraints and never feels rushed. Quite a few slice-of-life series have excelled even when limited to short episodes, such as “Aiura”, “Yama no Susume” and “Wakaba*Girl”.

Even though its jokes may be typical, if you’re looking for a cute slice-of-life anime to watch, then you simply can’t afford to miss this show!
You can watch this anime titled as “Komori-san Can’t Decline” on Crunchyroll.
