Bikini Warriors

With that title, veteran anime viewers will know what to expect of this anime based on the “ビキニ・ウォリアーズ” franchise, a line of figures created by Hobby Japan based on illustrations by various artists. Manufactured by Megahouse and Alphamax, the “Bikini Warriors” figures all depict scantily clad shapely maidens and include fantasy themed characters like the paladin, mage or valkyrie.

Hence, it should come as no surprise that the “Bikini Warriors” anime is basically a weekly advertisement stunt to promote this new figure line. As such, the production values of this short running time anime by studio Feel are not that great, and the show focuses almost entirely on providing ecchi fanservice featuring the four heroes.

Nonetheless, this show did manage to surprise me with content I had not expected from such an anime and for which I do commend it. Next to bland fanservice, each episode of “Bikini Warriors” serves up plenty of parody content where it overtly mocks itself as well as the usual fantasy game tropes such as grinding on side quests, looting random homes for coin, tentacle monsters, and of course the inexplicable effectiveness of female armor that barely covers anything.

Whether that parody content is enough to make this show worth your while is hard to say, so those of you curious about “Bikini Warriors”, I recommend you give this anime a try and judge for yourself.
